This is the beginning of my celebrations for reaching 200 blog posts.... A lot of you will wonder, this is not your 200th post, so why the excitement.... Nope it's not... But getting to the 200th post has been a journey full of wonderful people who walked with me in life and some joined me thru the blog world...
So I thought of having an event called 'Celebrations' where I would open out my blog to some of my friends who would share some parts of their journey with me as Guest Posts......
Aakriti and I have known each other for about 4 years now at work and beyond, now that she has been bitten by the entrepreneurial bug. She's started 'Boring Brands' where she handles Public relations, Social Media, Branding and Communication, all of which she is mighty good at, for her ever-growing clients.
She blogs at thinkingaxe.com. Her amazing sense of humour has me in splits and rolling with laughter yet making a point in all her post. The one I loved the most was 'Con Calls'. She's an amazing story teller n can spin a yarn at the drop of a hat rather bat of an eyelid.
Sometime back I put out a facebook status "Nachiketa Chandra says.... 5 people in office can have a slice of pineapple upside down cake.... what do i get in return? Bidding starts now....." and "Aakrti bid with Cold Coffee - with a tadka of toppings." She got her cake n I got Tadka Cold Coffee over a clandestine lunch at her place.
Her spunk and spark are incredible.... her smile lights up a zillion bulbs....
We've had super fun at all Diwali parties, she was Rakhi Sawant in a Big Boss equivalent on stage, her innovative face mask collage in independence day was awesome creativity.
The most exciting was Chetan Bhagat's talk in office where she wanted to ear a saree to attract attention.... Sweety we don't need sarees... all we need to do is laugh out loud..... :)
A small something for the indian readers of Aakriti... She will select 1 lucky commenter to win complimentary meal vouchers from Cafe Turtle, atop the book store Full Circle at Khan Market, New Delhi. The cafe has a varied selection of food n drinks and plays soft jazz music. So be sure to leave a note at the end of this post with your location. Readers in other countries can share the same with anyone in proximity of the cafe.
Aakriti Writes.....
My first encounter with Nachi was not face to face.. it was audio. I heard a laughter from across the floor. The reaction was “who” has the “audacity” to laugh so loud. Is this an office or “what”?
I – one of the meek ladies of the office used to peep from behind the desk every time I heard her.It was over some really lousy emailers (which we together did brilliantly – remember the genie) that we finally met. And I must say the rest is history – as audio encounters turned into group laughter over a piece of cake (rather dozens of pieces of cake).
Special Mention : My frail figure and her generosity always got me the extra bite :) and made her all the extra special in my life.
So here is the story of encounters with her.....
The first encounter has already been narrated. The frightening encounter was when we realized that both of us laugh like mad . Though I can be certified as frail and meek.. yet my laughter matches her laughter. Nachi brings smiles, laughter and food to the workplace. Brightens up every one (you can see extra saliva shining up those teeth).
The real encounter was far from reality, as I was drowning away in the bliss of chocolate… My taste buds feeling heaven and my mind not accepting it as a reality. I mean she is awesome. My main motto of befriending her was …..read further to know the real story.
The attractive encounter was every occasion at the workplace. Be it Holi, Diwali, Christmas or Independence day, her desk was always the centre of attraction ;)
The love encounter was a sweet surprise on the day after my birthday last year. I got a call from Nachi! *slurp*. I rolled my tongue and licked my fingers at the sight of it, and got a high at the smell of it (it had liquor in it.). You would hear a lot of us eating are fingers on a high saying it out loud- “that we would like to marry her.” My birthday ‘cup’ .. the sweetest gift (literally) that I ever received.
Now, I seal this post. This is it.Nachi is an encounter specialist. ;)
Truth: I have been bribed to write all this over the 4 years of knowing Nachi and the beautiful friendship that we share.
