While driving to work heard the RJ's on Meow radio station talking about "World Environment Day" today while i was stuck in traffic at Motibagh.... yes.. everyone else on radio was talking about it too....
Meow had someone called arundhati who is associated with PETA to come and talk to them on the occasion. In all what she said there were two that really struck me.....
1. Eating vegetarian food will help in reducing carbon emission......
couldn't figure out why...... being a huge fan for non-veg food... i was saddened...... decided to read more about it when i got to office.
found a in link in a new feed "Ahead of Environment Day activists of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals wear biohazard suits to create awareness about ill effects of meat consumption" but still can't figure out the "how" and "why" of the situation.
just saying this is not enough......

2. PETA had done a giant sand sculpture of a polar bear crushed beneath a larger-than-life shoe and a sign that read, "Your carbon footprints have leather shoes." You can catch the full story on the peta blog and in kalingatimesOne of the RJ's also said that some of the 5 star hotels in India have started working with children (either under privileged or handicapped... could hear it clearly...) These children re-use the flowers from hotel and make mottled paper.... (paper with flower petals embedded in them).....
