We Value You Award - Diwali Party at Work

Diwali is a time for festivities......

We had a blast at the Shimmer n Shine theme party in office. The morning saw rangolis and office decorations in all the buildings....

In the evening, we had the party. The evening started with the early bird raffle prizes....... Yupp... I won a gift hamper.....

The main event was for 'Item Numbers' and 'Spoofs'. Each team was lead by the department head as the 'Mascot' and had a cheer leading Squad.....

It was a lot of FUN......

The allcheckdeals team got the prize for best item number..... You can see why... ;-)

They danced on 'Bhutni ke' from Singh is King.

The Best spoof prize was bagged by the marketing team for doing a Bollywood version of Big Boss...... They were really funny and had us in splits of laughter......
Vinny's Gabbar, Anirban's Mithun, Sachin's Amitabh Bachan, Aakriti's Rakhi Sawant, Sukhpreet's Hema Malini, Archit's Bobby Deol..... Were amazing..... The script was so full of punches, people were rolling with laughter.....

Another act which had us hooting for more was by the Shiksha.com sales team....... It was an impersonation of 'Apoorv Kumar', [The HOD], on how their meetings are conducted and some choice words were replaced with the sound ' Tuuuuuuuuuuuuun'...... Get the Drift..... ;-)

After which there was an item performed by the NIS team.... yeah... we all knew what to expect...... everyone who had gone for dinner came back...... loud cheering and hooting....

After all the entertainment was over, came the 'We Value you Awards'.... yupp..... I got one too.....

I was missing Ayesha [My first real boss]..... So much of this, is because of her.... and a lot of other people too.... [that list is very long... will spare you the dhobi list]

Nachiketa Prize For Journalism

I didn't know there was an award like this...... "Nachiketa Prize For Journalism, it rewards forthrightness, courage, and dedication to truth in this profession."..hhhmmm interesting.... very interesting.....

The Award Is Given To An Outstanding Journalist And Carries A Citation And A Cash Prize Of Rs 1 Lakh. The Award is instituted By Himachal Pradesh'S Paanchjanya Nachiketa Sanmaan Nirnayak Mandal (Pnsnm).

Some excerpts that i'm gathering will form the rest of my post.

Last week, Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and his deputy L K Advani conferred upon Francois Gautier.

With the prize money, he and his wife Namrita have been organising a series of exhibitions in India and abroad about the plight of the Kashmiri Pundits in Kashmir, Hindu and non-Muslim Genocide in Bangladesh and other aspects/issues of cultural and political history that have affected and continued to affect the security and lives of Hindus of majority in India.


Eminent Journalist "Bhagwati Kumar Sharma", A Senior Editorial Member Of India's Second Oldest Newspaper - "Gujarat Mitra", Is The Recipient Of The Prestigious Nachiketa Award For 1999 For His Contribution To "Vernacular Journalism".

In 1998 The Award Was Given To "Cho Ramaswamy", Editor Of Tamil Magazine "Tughlaq".
