There are some friends who just K-N-O-W..... one such is Shuchi, She has this 'Never-Say-Never' spirit and is a very very dedicated and loyal friend who'll show me the mirror, pamper me, spoil me, set-me-straight, inspire me whenever I need whichever. She just Knows... I don't need to tell her, 1 phone call n she knows.... perceptive little jerry mouse she is. Shuchi got me these measuring spoons from Singapore along with some other things[coming up in a separate post].... This song 'Secret' by Seal remind me uncannily of Shuchi... :) It's quite repetitive but comfortingly so... just like her.... She K-N-O-W-S.... and we B-E-L-O-N-G....

While driving to work heard the RJ's on Meow radio station talking about "World Environment Day" today while i was stuck in traffic at Motibagh.... yes.. everyone else on radio was talking about it too....
Meow had someone called arundhati who is associated with PETA to come and talk to them on the occasion. In all what she said there were two that really struck me.....
1. Eating vegetarian food will help in reducing carbon emission...... couldn't figure out why...... being a huge fan for non-veg food... i was saddened...... decided to read more about it when i got to office. found a in link in a new feed "Ahead of Environment Day activists of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals wear biohazard suits to create awareness about ill effects of meat consumption" but still can't figure out the "how" and "why" of the situation.
just saying this is not enough......
"Our PETA activists are wearing biohazard suits that tells how meat is toxic for human beings and for the environment. So on the occasion of World Environment Day we want to spread the message that if people will continue eating meat and meat products entire earth will get destroyed. Meat is toxic for the entire universe and will make survival of human beings difficult on earth," said Nikunj Sharma, campaign coordinator, PETA.
2. PETA had done a giant sand sculpture of a polar bear crushed beneath a larger-than-life shoe and a sign that read, "Your carbon footprints have leather shoes." You can catch the full story on the peta blog and in kalingatimes
One of the RJ's also said that some of the 5 star hotels in India have started working with children (either under privileged or handicapped... could hear it clearly...) These children re-use the flowers from hotel and make mottled paper.... (paper with flower petals embedded in them)..... I found it a fabulous idea.......

The weather in Delhi continues to be awesome and rainy... [check out yesterday's post "Nice Songs on Radio Make Me Happy - II". All the RJ's seem to have only this to discuss.....
Got stuck in crazy traffic today..... water water everywhere.....cars n more cars.... wish i had fished out my camera and captured some pics... by the time the thought struck me, i was on the Noida DND. Thankfully there was hardly any traffic while going to Noida. The people going towards Delhi had it really bad..... the jam was from Ashram all the way back till the Yamuna Bridge......
Got to office and there was just no place to park (as usual)... what made it worse was there was so much water logging that if you didn't park in your usual place... u'd have no idea if you are driving into a rut or a manhole....
Finally got some space far away.... stepped into almost 4 inces of water .... actually slush... walked into office wet and icky....
The saving grace were the 3 nice songs on the way and the lovely weather.....

I travel from my home (South Delhi) to office(Noida) and back accompanied by the radio jockeys….
Most of them do a gr8 job of keeping us entertained….. RJ Nitin is my absolute fav…. He was earlier with Radio Mirchi (‘Ulta Pulta' Nitin; am sure RJs Saurav and Anant had a tough time stepping into his shoes….. I tuned off after nitin left) n then moved to Red FM. The snippet he does on “Band Bajega” is just too cool…..
RJ Sarthak is also good along with his pet cow adam, polite applause and full crowd applause….
I generally keep switching channels to find songs which I like……
Today was one of the rare days when I got 3 songs in a row on the same channel without having to switch…… 102.6 Air FM Rainbow….. [yes u read it right "102.6 Air FM Rainbow"... they play some pretty good music in the mornings....]
